Jumbo Foam Floating Die?

Description

We obtained this from an old magician’s estate. It appears to be some type of jumbo floating die effect but there are no instructions so this is only a guess. Tried to research the effect but with no luck.

The jumbo foam die is really nice and measures 6 inches per side. The plastic hoop measures 12 inches in diameter. The die is attached to the hoop with two sections of clear fish line. How the working goes is not known.

Maybe someone is familiar with this or has a use for the large die
