Description
The original cast iron Magician Bank was first manufactured by J. & E. Stevens Company, Pennsylvania, circa 1901. An original bank recently sold on eBay for over $2,000.00.
This model is a modern cast iron reproduction from somewhere in the 1970’s or later.
We picked this up from an old magician’s estate.
Measures approximately 7″ long, 4″ wide, and stands 8″ tall.
Operates by placing a coin on the table and pressing down lever. This brings down the magician’s arms to cover coin with his hat. Pushing back up on the lever the arms return to their original position and the coin has disappeared into the bank.
We have tried it out and it seems to work okay.
The only fault is that there is some paint loss on the magician figure. Otherwise everything else is in good condition.
