Description
From a magician’s estate purchase. No instructions. The buzzer works just fine. The white box has slightly toned from age but is complete with its flaps.
The S.S. Adams Joy Buzzer is a classic mechanical hand-shaker prank device invented in 1928 by Soren Sorenson Adams and patented in the United States in 1932.
How it works: It is worn like a ring on the finger and concealed in the palm. A wind-up spring mechanism creates a safe, buzzing vibration during a handshake rather than an electric shock.
Features a round metal plate with a finger loop, historically sold in branded packaging labeled with slogans like “The greatest of all Fun-Makers”. (This is the one we are selling)
Vintage 1930s or mid-century units that still function and retain their original boxes are sought-after collector’s items among magic and novelty enthusiasts.
