The El Torero (The Bullfighter) is a vintage pocket magic and mechanical puzzle toy manufactured by the Franco-American Novelty Co. (Franco N.Y.) starting around the 1940s.
The Effect: The toy features a circular casing with a picture of a bullfighter (matador) and a bull, plus a metal bull’s head (or a key/stem piece attached by a chain). You insert the stem of the bull’s head into a hole in the case, and when you push or pull the side lever/button, a metal sword appears to slash straight through the bull’s neck without harming it.
