Haunted Hanky

Description

Effect: An ordinary handkerchief, about 18″ square, is shown to be clearly empty. It is folded and placed on the table and the corners folded in. Performer places his hands on the hanky and concentrates. Soon the hanky begins to move. Then something inside begins to jump up and down, and dance as if a ghost were trapped under it. Just as suddenly, the ghost vanishes, the hanky drops flat and performer opens it to show it free of any trickery – it is just an ordinary hadnkerchief.

Note: If you own a mini pocket spirit slate you can perform a different type effect where the magician wraps a small slate and piece of chalk under the hanky, and the “spirits” can write a message on the slate.
