From a magician’s estate purchase. Comes with the original instructions along with the coin vanishing stand, setting stick, and eight Kennedy Half Dollars. The blue ribbed velvet shows some discoloration from use and the slits made in the material where the four coins are held has worn to the point where a coin will not stay secured by the material if you wish to perform the second routine as described in the instructions. You will need to replace the material with new and make a thin slit so the coins will be held in position without falling back inside the base of the chest. Otherwise everything else is good and you are able to perform the first routine described in the instructions without having to replace anything.

The Karpinski Coin Chest is mainly made of walnut, with mahogany side panels. It has a custom inlay and the interior is lined in ribbed velvet. The device allows the instant appearance (or reappearance) of up to four coins the size of a half dollar. The mechanism is completely controllable by the artist in terms of order, quantity and timing of release. The Coin Chest routine requires the disappearance of up to four coins; this can be achieved with any variant of sleight of hand, or using the Karpinski Coin Stand.
