You display two coins, one black and one red, both of which are inscribed with the four Chinese characters: ‘qian’/’long’/’tong’/’bao’.

One of the audience members chooses to hold the red coin in their hands. You take down the four Chinese characters on the black coin one by one, and apparently place them into your pocket, leaving behind a black coin with no characters on it.

Then you reach back into your pocket and apparently grab the four Chinese characters and thrown them back onto the coin as the black coin returns to normal, but then you immediately grab the Chinese character ‘bao’ from it and toss it towards the spectator holding the red coin. When the spectator opens their hand they find a ‘bao’ character on the back of the red coin they have holding the entire time!
