The Dime and Penny trick is a non-locking set and does not require a bang ring to separate the set when they are nested together. The tail side shell penny has a metal shim inside so it will be attracted to a magnet. It will hide a dime underneath so you are able to perform a transformation effect of changing a penny into a dime as long as you have a magnetic block or other type secret hand held gimmick.
