Vintage Match Book Gimmick

This came from an old magician’s estate purchase. No instructions. Original use is not known. This is a metal flesh colored holder clip that is attached to the back of a book of matches by two bend-over metal tabs. As mentioned above the original use is not known but this could be used to secretly hold some flash paper or a message that you would secretly obtain while opening up the book of matches to strike a match for a particular effect. Selling as is. Maybe someone recognizes this and has a use it. It’s in excellent like-new pre-owned condition.
