Description

From an old magician’s estate purchase. Good working condition. Maker unknown. No original instructions. But, if you are not familiar with the working, we will supply some written instructions from a later model Miniature Die Box that will help you how to perform the trick.

Effect: The performer displays a small metal double compartment box with doors in front and with a small solid red wooden block inside. The block is removed from the box, shown around to the audience and then placed back in one side of the box and both doors are closed. The box is tilted and the front door to that compartment is opened. The die is seen in that compartment. The door is closed and the audience is asked to remember where the die is. The box is tilted and the front door to that compartment is opened. The die is seen to have vanished.

The audience is not impressed because they have heard the block slide to the opposite compartment. They ask the magician to open the door to the other compartment. The magician closes the door to the first compartment then tilts the box (the audience can hear the block sliding over) then opens the door to the adjacent compartment to show that it is empty.

This business of sliding the block from one compartment of the box to the other is repeated till the audience is howling for both doors to be opened at the same time. Finally, the magician opens both doors and proves the die has in fact vanished! The solid block is found in hat or some other container.

The box measures 2 inches long, 1-1/8 inches wide, and stands 1 inch tall. The block measures 3/4 of an inch on all sides.
