Description
From a magician’s estate purchase. Comes with the original instructions, box, and gimmick. The second largest box has a small section of plastic missing from its top section of the box but this does not affect the working of the trick. See our last picture.
Vintage E-Z Magic (produced by D. Robbins & Co.) marketed classic pocket and parlor magic tricks, including various nested box and coin-into-box illusions.
• Design & Materials: Unlike high-end precision brass or North American walnut sets (such as those by Abbott’s, Viking, or modern versions by David Penn), vintage E-Z Magic sets were typically mass-marketed for hobbyists, kids, and beginner magicians using lightweight metals, molded plastics, or painted cardstock.
• Collectibility: Complete vintage sets that retain their original illustrated E-Z Magic/Robbins cardboard boxes and paper instruction sheets are sought after by collectors
Effect: The performer borrows a coin, which can be marked. It is covered by a handkerchief, and given to a spectator to hold. The performer now removes from his pocket a plastic box, which is placed on the table, or given to another spectator to hold. The handkerchief is whipped away and the coin has vanished.
The spectator holding the box is asked to open it. Inside is another plastic box and inside that a third box and inside that a fourth box! And finally inside the fourth plastic box is the same marked and borrowed coin!
The trick is almost automatic in working – thanks to a very special gimmick supplied with the four boxes along with operating instructions.
